Michelle and Chris Emin, owners of Snowpine Kennels and Cattery, have been involved with animals for as long as they can remember. They started showing Alaskan Malamutes in 1982 and were the founding members of the Transvaal Alaskan Malamute Club in 1985. Chris was the chairman and Michelle the secretary for some 8 years before handing the reins over to the younger malamute enthusiasts.
In 1996 they bought their first golden retriever, Polly and immediately became involved in both showing and field trialling her. Polly became a dual champion, achieving championship status in both breed shows and field trials (retrieving). Polly's son Wesley who was born in 1999 followed in her footsteps by becoming both a show and field trial champion.
In 1997 Chris and Michelle bought ‘Boss’ a black labrador puppy who went on to became a field trial champion, despite losing his right back leg to cancer at the age of two. Despite only having 3 legs he was the top winning retrieving labrador in the country for 6 years running.
The totally rundown kennels at the time were bought in 1994 by Chris and Michelle who proceeded to upgrade them into the beautiful facility it is today.
